Our Leadership Team

Bill Barbuto

Deacon, Trail Life USA Leader

quote-leftI therefore, a prisoner for the Lord, urge you to walk in a manner worthy of the calling to which you have been called. – Ephesians 4:1

Bill grew up in Massachusetts and moved to Colorado shortly after getting married 30 years ago to his lovely wife, Maureen. After the birth of their son, he moved to Florida to be closer to family for his son’s benefit. Upon entering the first grade, his son joined Cub Scouts that opened the door to Parkway Baptist Church. Now a leader (Troopmaster) in Trail Life USA, Bill is excited in walking more boys along the trail of life with an eternal destination in mind.

Bob Cook

Deacon; Music Ministry

quote-leftHe will be like a tree firmly planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in its season. And its leaf does not wither; And in whatever he does, he prospers. — Psalm 1:3

“I am closest to my Creator when I am digging in the dirt” explains why Bob Cook, a gardener, moved here from Michigan in 1987. “Nothing wrong with snow, but I would rather shovel compost.”

Bob aims some of his energies on the drums in our praise band as we make a joyful noise to the Lord.

Bill Danley

Bill has been a member of Parkway Baptist almost as long as he has been married to his wife Susan — over 30 years. Bill is one of the few who was actually born in Lee County, living here almost his entire life. He is definitely a man of long term commitments!

After graduating from Edison State College and Florida State University, he spent 26 years working for the Social Security Administration, and the past six years assisting our nation’s veterans and families by filing their claims with the Veteran’s Administration.

On most Sundays you’ll find Bill being “a doorkeeper in the house of my God” (Psalm 84:10), greeting folks in the foyer and on the front porch as they arrive.

Greg Martin

Greg Martin and his wife Stephanie have two children, Kirby and Clay. While Greg teaches and coaches football for Ft. Myers High School, Stephanie serves as head coach for the girls volleyball team.

With all of the athletic imagery in the New Testament, Greg’s sports background gives him a unique appreciation for Hebrews 12:1

quote-leftLet us run with patience the race marked out before us … Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith ….
